AI Accuracy

What decision is the AI actually making? Most AI demos focus on capability. Regulated labs should focus on decision accuracy.

Here’s why that distinction matters:

When accuracy drops below ~98% on routine decisions, human oversight increases with volume, limiting the value of automation.

That’s the trap many labs fall into when “AI” is treated as a single category.

In practice, different types of AI behave very differently in the lab. Some are well suited for exploration or language tasks. Others are designed to take responsibility for decisions that must be consistently right, reviewable, and defensible.

Before adopting AI, lab managers should be able to answer one simple question:

What exact decision does this system make, and what accuracy actually matters for that decision?

At SLAS 2026, our founder will be discussing what it takes for AI to scale decisions in regulated workflows. Join the conversation at Booth #1266
